Welcome to Max's Boat, a website devoted to the extraordinary possibilities of the picture book, and a tribute of sorts to my very favorite one, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.

 

Each week, one picture book writer or illustrator will share their own favorite picture books and explain their picks in an interview. These are the books that they love reading to their kids at night, the ones that make them laugh out loud, and the ones they think will become the classics of the future.

 

I hope Max’s Boat will point you and your family to your next treasured book, and introduce the youngest would-be readers to the magic that can live in just 32 pages.
